“Junior Team” is a general term (originating with the USTA) and refers to all of our programs that emphasize intermediate skills, competition and team. It is for those players who have previously played tennis, know basic rules, etiquette and scorekeeping. This program will be for the experienced tennis player who has payed in tournaments and is a competitive player. Please no beginners allowed. If a coach feels the player isn’t at the appropriate ability, they may ask the player to move to a different class/group. Format will be instructor fed/playing based drills and will have a low player to instructor ratio (4:1 or 5:1). Junior Team typically involves some travel and competitive match play against other communities but this info is yet TBD. Please include date of birth, USTA # with expiration date, and parent email address.

NOTE: All Junior Team programming runs June 13 through July 28 (29th in the event of rain that week) with no team the week of July 4th.

** No player will be allowed to practice with the team until all fees are paid IN FULL. And, all 14U and 18U players are required to obtain their own USTA membership through the USTA (12U does NOT need a membership). Click here to renew your current membership or join for the first time.**

**ONLY SIGN UP FOR YOUR APPROPRIATE AGE GROUP. If you sign up for a group above your age, you will be moved to the appropriate group. The determination of which group to sign up for is based on the age as of the first day of lessons (if a player is 12 or under on the start of lessons, they should sign up for 12U, 13-14 years would be 14U and 15-18 years would be 18U). We as that you please adhere to this.**

12 and Under (12U) Jr. Team: Mon.-Thurs. 1:30-2:30 – This group is for players who are ready to fine-tune their strokes, learn strategy and begin and improve match play. Players will play intra-squad matches. The focus of this group will be learning the game and preparing for the future. This is a great opportunity for our younger players to prepare themselves for future Jr. Team play. Players are expected to know all their strokes, know how to score and have some level of match play experience. If a coach feels the player isn’t at the appropriate ability, they may ask the player to move to a different class/group. No USTA Membership is required. Cost: $225. Max of 30 players.

14 & Under (14U) Jr. Team: Mon.-Thurs. 2:30-4:00

18 & Under (18U) Jr. Team: Mon.-Thurs. – two groups – AM (8:00 – 9:30) and PM (4:00-5:30)

Competitive matches against other teams will be set up throughout the summer at Longview and in other communities. 14U and 18U Junior Team usually cap off the season at area and section play offs (TBD).

The focus of this group will be conditioning, stroke refinement, and match strategy. Junior Team will work hard and have fun. Dedication to improving ones tennis game is a must. If you take tennis seriously, want to work hard, want to play a lot of matches, and want to improve, this is the group for you this summer! All 14U and 18U Players are required to obtain their own USTA membership through the USTA.
