Longview Tennis Camp (LTC) is our Junior Team format for the competitive player. This will be a seven-eight week program available at four different levels. Once interested players sign up, they will be placed in the appropriate LTC group. Instructors will use feedback from area coaches and instructors that players have been coached by to make the appropriate placement.
Camp programming runs June 24th through August 1st with no lesson on July 4th.
*All LTC participants will get free entry into the Longview Junior City Tournament (must sign up), which will be held Thursday, August 8, 1:00-5:00 and Friday, August 9, 9:00-5:00.
*Players will be placed in a group based on ability. We are having everyone sign up via a Google Form (click here). Please sign up by April 15th, 2024. Groups will be announced by the end of April.
Group Descriptions:
Rising Stars Group: Monday-Thursday 1:00-2:00PM – $320 – (Placement Group). This group is for junior tennis players that will continue to be taught the proper techniques in all aspects of the tennis game. A focus will be to develop a consistent first serve, return and groundstrokes. The players will learn strategies in both singles and doubles, and will spend time working on physical fitness, mental tennis and tennis etiquette. Requirements: Players should sustain a consistent rally up to four or more shots. The player is able to hit all shots but consistency, strength and strokes are still developing. This person wants to work hard and will do what it takes to be better at tennis.
Competitive Group: Monday-Thursday 2:00-3:30P – $475 – (Placement Group). This group is for junior tennis players who are hoping to make their high school team or who have already made a varsity, junior varsity tennis team, or of similar ability. A focus will be to develop a stronger first serve and reliable second serve, consistent returns and groundstrokes. The players will learn strategies in both singles and doubles, and will spend time working on physical fitness, mental tennis and tennis etiquette. Requirements: Players should sustain a consistent rally up to seven or more shots. The player is able to make the serve to get the point started. This person wants to work hard and will do what it takes to be better at tennis.
Advanced Group: Monday-Thursday 8:15-9:45AM – $475 – (Placement Group). This group is for junior tennis players who are considered varsity, and some of the strongest players in the area. The emphasis of this group is to develop dependable strokes and serve. The players are building mental toughness, physical fitness, strategy, footwork, etiquette, and to develop a better understanding of doubles. Requirements: Players must be the top in their group. They should sustain a consistent rally for up to 15 or more shots, mixing up spins and speeds. Have a solid 1st serve and can make the 2nd serve very consistently. This person wants to work hard and will do what it takes to be better at tennis.
Aspire Group: Mon. AND Wed. 3:30-5:00PM – $240 – (Invitation Only) This group is by invitation only. These players exceed the advanced group ability, play year round tennis and anticipate playing competitively past high school.
